T-shirt Upcycle Project

Mollie was the only one who answered my call for an up-cycle pen pal. She sent me not one, but two shirts, one for each catagory. If you recall the first was for a shirt you love but that is too nasty to wear anymore. The second was one you love to wear.

I didn't want to post just one half, but who knows when I'll get my hands on the things I need for the other part, so here is the first half of Mollie's present. Oh, and I know she doesn't read my blog, so don't tell her about it, I want it to be a surprise when she gets it!

So, unfortunately I didn't take too many before pictures, but here's the best I've got. As you can tell, this baby was wayyyyyy past the wearing point. I'd say ew, but I have way worse.

And this is what  I ended up with. Now, before you judge, I've never tried to embroider before. I think it might be awhile before I try again.

NYPL Digital Gallery

As some of you have heard I've been attempting to rearrange my apartment to make it more hospitable in the hopes that someone will want to spend time with me. Anyone. Part of that mission is to finish hanging the artwork that I started last winter.

And it seems greedy of me to keep my favorite resource a secret. Especially when Kat wanted to know where to find vintage posters

So, let me tell you about the New York Public Library Digital Gallery
Their blurb says "NYPL Digital Gallery provides free and open access to over 700,000 images digitized from the The New York Public Library's vast collections, including illuminated manuscripts, historical maps, vintage posters, rare prints, photographs and more."

Can you get cooler than that? I mean, honestly. Here are a few of my favorite that I found just browsing in the last 5 minutes. I think they would look great together in  little grouping my bathroom (the rug is that teal color!)

The Best of Nora's Senior Pictures

I've been busy... I think. It doesn't feel like I'm horribly busy, but then I turn around and have managed to complete nothing, so I MUST be busy, right?

Yesterday we had an all day photo shoot for Nora's senior pictures. I think it went rather well.
